Anyone else getting furlowed??

So It appears theres a 50/50 shot Im gonna have to take 22 days off between Apri and september..Looks like a few extra days fishing the inlet are in my future..

Every quarter is an adventure were I work. Sometimes you lose a week sometimes you don't. Tough to plan any thing around it.

We have a mandatory furlough that needs to be taken before March 31st.

Sorry to hear, guys. I still can't believe we re-elected this clown. Let's hope things turn around soon for you in spite of the current political environment. We have too many good people out of work or underemployed these days!

Just got the word today.....they will begin after March 1.....thank you King Obama.....between then and 9/30 I will miss somewhere between 1 and 22 days....hopefully, I can offset it with some landscaping work....anyone need mulch/shrubs/hardscaping??? Hopefully, my old truck can get me through one more season.....

Private, they do it to maintain the stock price and burn the vacation liabilty.

State here and we got hit with the furloughs a couple years back. Sucks cause like Mackofalltrades said, both incomes were affected. Don't think we'll get anymore though.

I'm private and I bring in the only income in my family so 1 week of no pay is gonna sting.

If they move forward with the one day a pay period thing, just remember you you lose pay, pension/TSP contributions AND you still have to pay your medical coverage, which further reduces the daily rate you receive for the other 9 days.
