Best gloves for winter steelhead Salmon River?

At 68 years old I must have poor circulation in my hands, since now they get so cold so fast. I fly fish the Salmon River in the fall and spring, but I always wanted to fish it in the winter for steelhead. The only way I can do it is with a pair of warm waterproof gloves.

Can anyone recommend a warm waterproof glove, especially for releasing fish? Once my hands get wet it is hard to get them dry and warm again. 

I would appreciate any recommendations.

To be thin enough they would have to be Gore-Tex.  Look into maybe a Gore-Tex  liner type of glove .  GL

Before Gore-Tex  My Dad and I would rub Vaseline into our hands before putting on wool gloves with the fingers open, fishing for cod when they were abundant back then.

I’ve steelhead fished for years in Jan/Feb. Regular thinsulate lined fingerless wool are the best. Neoprene work unless you have to take them off, then your hands will never warm up in them until they’re completely dry. That being said nothing is 100%

I use fingerless gloves like Mark posted. I bring a small towel to dry my hands and good hand warmers. I will sometimes use a full finger glove on the rod hand. 
Hand Muff with hand warmers work really good after releasing a fish.

I’ve been very curious on the Seal Skinz gloves. Maybe something that would work. They are pricey though. 
 

Btw, February is my favorite month to find some chrome on the SR. Just make sure you have some Pam for your eyelets lol.

I agree with the above. Fingerless wool are my favorite for winter fishing.

I have hand muffs I use with hand warmers. I also always use wool gloves when hunting. I have a pair of Simms waterproof gloves, but I have seen mixed reviews about how waterproof they are. 

I think what I am going to do is use the Simms with a hand muff and warmers. I will carry a small towel if my hands do get wet. 

I think the whole secret for me will be to net and release the fish from the net with long forceps I have. let the fish recover in the net and just don't get my hands wet.
