Bought my first bow and took my archery test there.

I use to love checking deer in there and weighing them right on the sidewalk in front of store.

Bought my first bow there in 1979. A youth model Ben Pearson. Missed a lot of deer with that bow LOL.

As a kid growing up here where I am now, I found a Butts and Bows arrow behind my house, I was probably 13 or 14 at the time and had no clue about anything out of 07882 

Flash forward may years and I wound up meeting Lenny at the 50th anniversary of Pope and Young.

As we were BSing I mentioned the arrow I found some 20 plus years ago. He started laughing and said he thought it was a great idea to get the store name out anyway he could,  however they got more calls from people finding arrows in their yards or stuck in dead deer that non hunters were finding. 

He said worst idea he ever came up with, he had me damn near pissing myself as he went through the story.

Smoky was Lenny's step father if not mistaken. 

Joe and Lenny were friends.

Took my 1st deer there to check in for contest in 78'

Bought my 1st bow from Lenny in 77. Lifetime ago.
