Ice Predictions…..

I’m starting to get the itch to hit some hard water. Long range forecast looks like the temps are continuing to drop and stay cold up to Christmas.  Not sure what the week after will hold but could be safe ice I’m hoping by the new year on the shallow lakes. We will see.

Skim ice all weekend in Wayne county PA. Long range forecast says lows below 20 and highs around 30 now til Christmas. Ice calculator says ice will build 6-7 in by then .

I'm hoping to be able to get out around here right around Christmas. I have been tying a bunch of ice jigs, already got my order of waxies in the fridge. All I need is some ice!

I think we will be hard water fishing right after Christmas this year.

All we need is some cold nights like last night for a few consecutive days and there will be good ice on the usual suspect fisheries.  Obviously still need to use good judgment and be safe but it ads up quick. I’m excited to get out myself this year.  This morning the feels like was 12 at my house so go 15 miles north and climb another 400 ft in elevation it’s even colder.  At my hunting camp the feels like was 4deg F I think this morning.  I’ve grows fast when it’s that cold.  Good luck all!

Hope we get some down here in Central jersey. It’s ok to go north and hang with a few friends from the site but I like to get out after work sometimes to close to home.

My friend fished Sussex today.

Kids were playing hockey on lake by me today, Morris County. I noticed even the stream was frozen.

Bud lake was starting to ice up the other  day if I can will drive by tomorrow on way home

We skated on one of the smaller lakes in my town but long range ain't looking to good. 40's and 50's next two weeks.
