I was fortunate to have been able to travel to South Africa this past July.  My quest was a zebra and my goal was to be able to shoot one with my compound bow.  Long story short, it took most of my time there, but I was successful. I also shot a blesbok with a rifle. Anybody else travel to the Dark Continent?

I wish, that's a dream hunt for me but, I can barely afford to hunt NJ...lol

It wasn't that bad, cost wise.  I went to a dinner a few years ago that explained how the average person could afford to hunt Africa, saved for 2 years, and went.

It was actually a very difficult hunt Axiom.  Many people think of Zebra's as "Like A Horse" but they really are not.  If you are a UBNJ member, watch for their next magazine coming out shortly ;)

Hunting is the cheap part. Getting them back is the expensive part

And that was part of how to make the  trip affordable . . . if you can be happy to donate what you kill and only bring home 1 animal, yep, it's affordable.

True.. Many people including me..  I'm sure they are not as easy to take as some might think, But still, id have a hard time getting past the thought of hunting a striped horse... I was thinking more along the lines of hunting  Orangutans, bag one and have it mounted with its arms straight up and its hands limp.. I would crack up laughing everytime I looked at it.. But then I realized they don't exist in Africa so im back to square 1... :hmmmer:
