I recall reading somewhere (maybe here) guys using sternos to heat bacon grease.  Big fire hazard but you can cook yourself breakfast in the woods.

Scents also aren’t considered bait. So stuff like Signal 11 jelly, anise smoke sticks, etc

Years ago i was deer hunting and   i had 2 young bears about 75 yds away .and they were just laying underneath a tree eating acorns. i was hungry and took out a granola bar and starting eating. the bears smell it and came in on a shoe string. i had to yell at them to scare them away. lol

Bow hunting once before I went up the tree I spread some c'mere deer around the ground, I left the bag at the base of the tree it still had some in it. A little later a bear came picked up the bag in it's mouth and slowly meandered off.
