As some of you who recently came over from that other site know I blew out my knee two weeks ago getting out of my climber. I went for an MRI today so I will find out if I need surgery this week.

My knee problem has got me thinking about an easier way I can get in and out of of my TreeWalker. The idea I came up with would probably be useful with a healthy knee. I have one of those three peice ladders that strap onto the tree for use with a lock on. I could simply strap one section of the ladder to my climber when I walk in. I could then strap it to the tree and hook the climber above it. This way I can use the ladder to easily step in and out of the climber.

The reason I say it would be useful with a healthy knee is I could start the climber much higher on the tree allowing me to go higher in the tree before the platform levels out.

I have tried using a screw in step for this purpose in the past, but I think the three foot section of ladder would work better. My recollection of using the screw in is it was really difficult to find it with my foot when getting out of the tree especially in the dark after an evening hunt.

Unfortunately my three section ladder is currently in Illinois.

Sounds like a good idea for you. You can use a section of rapid rail, that should work perfect for you .
