Did my part for NJ turkey conservation

…by not taking a single bird this fall season.  I was out there 6 of the 7 days in multiple places that I have seen turkeys in the past during spring/summer/fall.  Didn’t see or hear a single bird this season.

Anybody else out there have any luck?

It’s amazing! They are on our golf course. It’s like they can read posted signs.

Hunted couple days with no real expectations; just an excuse to get out. Had a couple roosted about 80 yards away with morning while out with my buddy for the veteran waterfowl day. Pretty comical the one time I wasn't out for turkeys. Par for the course I guess in the fall.

I had to chase them 3 times out of my corn this morning lol.

I think,I burned myself out with the New York Fall Turkey Season on the Multiple  use areas. I was out 10 days out of the 14 day Season. NJ opened the day after NY Closed in my area.

 I was out 3 Times. I saw Tremendous  Turkey Sign " somewhere" near Sussex County on Public.

   I enjoyed myself though and got out.  These Multiple  Use area Turkeys are Tough! I called in a Hiker who was off Trail.  He had a Green Shopping Bag and was out collecting  whatever. Extremely  Intelligent  Man. Sounded like a College Professor.

Lol, did mine as well.  Mon, bumped a group on my way out. Tues-Wed had gobblers close but never got eyes on.  Thursday, heard one gobble in the distance.  Couldn’t go Friday, and Saturday saw plenty of droppings and feathers but heard/saw nothing.  All on Z-21 public land.  Moving on to upland, hopefully this spring will bring it all together!  Got some exercise at least.
