I was planning on staying till 2024, but what really told me I was more of liability to myself and other uniforms was a simple recertification of CPR and doing chest compressions on the dummy I had extreme pain in my left arm into my neck...I knew then it was time

Best of luck, pain sucks and for me is a part of life, did the insurance game and played by their rules.

However knowing how to work around the pain and get everything I needed done is the best medicine I've found.

If I talked about back and shoulder issues Matt would make a separate forum lol

Not a complete a$$ hole just one of the dingle berries that hang off it.

Saw my doctor, the MRI compared to the MRI done in 2018 shows the same with added issues.....arthritis in each part of my cervical spine, also seeing a shoulder specialist as I have pain in my left shoulder shooting down to my elbow, with pins and needles going down my arm and at times my left hand gets cold, also going for a EMG nerve test

Sorry to hear. Hope nothing but the best for you. I went for MRI a week ago. With and without contrast. Go to see my results later this week. I also have arthritis in my spine. Since my back surgery my life has changed drastically. Had to quit my full time job and close my bait and tackle shop. Pins and needles in my legs and horrible burning in my legs if I stand to long. Feel a lot older then I am. Sucks.

How is your range of motion?

I have not really lost any left-right rotation and I would say up and down is about a 10% loss.  No issue with downward motion but can not look directly up.  Getting too old to do that anyways!!!  easier to spin around and look from an angle anyways.  I know that I can be the exception but both of my surgeries worked great and I wouldn't hesitate to have them again.  They went in the front of the neck so minimally invasive.

Thanks. I’m going to surgeon next month. NYU.
Not sure yet if I’m candidate but he’ll tell me. How was swallowing afterwards? My friend said it was brutal for a while and to this day still has to make sure he chews everything really well.

Makes it really difficult when everyone is giving u different advice…..I’m going thru cardiac issues now and everyone in my family has different advice, I’ve decided what to do with what doctor and what hospital and I’ve asked everyone to stop with the opinions.
