I wonder what he will look like in 4 years

HONOR THE FALLEN
https://thefallen.militarytimes.com/
Over the years the US has sent many of its fine young men & women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return, is enough to bury those that did not return. COLIN POWELL

It's a good question, is that a spike that will always be a spike...or do you think he'd somehow have the genetic ability to suddenly sprawl more points?  I feel like he'd always be a spike.

If so I hope he's not in an antler restriction zone, that bad boy needs to be taken out.

That info has been discredited. Here is a good read

if you look closely, the first picture looks like something wants to grow. but then again who knows. some bucks are just not meant to be. same in society lol.

I think that article proves that a young spike isn't always a spike, but at some point the genetics just aren't there for some bucks and they never grow to anything more than a spike.

I think the first picture in that article is clearly a young spike who should get another year to see if he sprawls out a bit more.

I'd be surprised if the deer in my pics or beaverman's pic are 1.5 yr old spikes, that's a lot of length on them.

What do you think?

the pic beaverman posted like you said has length. but also has mass. i think that buck will always be a spike. a great one though

I have personally seen spikes turn into Giants. The first deer could be a 1.5 and if so could pop next year. Remember some buck fawns are born late and as a result can be stunted for the first two years of growth. They usually even out around 3.5.
