First deer hunt I ran into two guys on separate occasions only wearing an orange knit hat. Fish and Wildlife say you need 200 square inches of orange for most hunts. Hell my turkey vest has an orange flag on the back!! Orange saves lives end of story!

Not trusting the government doesn't make you a conspiracy theorist, it makes you a history buff

Firearm hunters must wear a cap made of solid daylight fluorescent orange or an outer garment containing at least 200 square inches of fluorescent orange material visible from all sides at all times while engaged in hunting.

Areas ofNY I hunt require no hunter orange even during rifle season.  As I do still wear a blaze orange hat just because. But at the end of the day it is the hunters responsibility to know his target and beyond.

🥺😒😔🤮 jeez..i smell lawsuit.

Don't get me started on the 200sq in of orange requirement in NJ....

too late. I must rant but don't roast me.

The must wear a solid orange hat is when you're hunting on wmas stocked with pheasants and quail. I don't disagree with this at all

The hat or outer garment  containing atleast 200sq in is for deer, rabbit, etc.

Problem is the wording in the regs. They give you an option of hat or...instead it should be hat and...

Nobody and i mean nobody has an orange hat wearable that is 200sq in.

If you find 1.. can prove it's wearable and it's 200sq in i'll give you $5.00.

End of rant...for now.

it's not an option. it's forced choice. there is no problem in wording, it's intentional.

Read again.. a solid orange hat OR 200 sq orange garment....Firearm hunters must wear a cap made of solid daylight fluorescent orange or an outer garment containing at least 200 square inches of fluorescent orange material visible from all sides at all times while engaged in hunting. A camo-orange hat alone is not adequate.
