Out in z5.  It’s raining acorns. Coyotes in the distance. Owls hooting all around. Big group of turkeys roosting behind me about to get down, and just gave a problem bear a good scare. It’s jungle habitat without any deer so far.

Nothing spooks deer more than my stank…

I got up in the tree around 5:30am. On the walk in I have never spooked that many deer out of this field, hunting here 20 years. Fingers crossed they come back through.

And I have 1 mosquito buzzing me like crazy.

looks like an afternoon stand

This is a kind of stand that deer walk by any time of day. It is a hunterdon county hay field. No pattern, no rhyme, no reason. Just a lot of deer.

The good news is I've been seeing deer all day, most within 5 - 15yds

The issue is I'm at the YMCA of the Pines camp in Medford for the father/child weekend with daughter, my brother, and nephew.

Need to talk staff into adding a "harvesting" option to this afternoon's archery event.🤣🤣🤣

Good luck to everyone today!!!
