JD48
Seems to be an abundance this year, if your dog or family member were being attacked in your yard and you shot it, could you get in trouble? lot of towns have no discharge laws, i would shoot it and deal with the aftermath, you say? bushden
If they were actually being attached I to would shoot, but that is a double edge sword you could accidentally hurt you family member you might be better off with a baseball bat. OldPiney Woods
A couple years ago we had a skunk in our yard in the middle of the day. It was going after our dog and walking very strangely. I was an hour from home and my wife was home alone. I called animal control. They would not come out. Said just because a skunk is out during the day does not mean its rabid. I said I have some knowledge of wildlife and this animal was not acting normal. They still would not come out. Figured we were just some uninformed city folk who just moved to the country. My wife then called the local police who said they don’t handle those kinds of issues. It would not leave our yard. Also, what if it went some where else and attacked a child. I told my wife to get one of our shotguns and shoot it. She did. We have no neighbors behind us or on either side. Just farm fields but we do have neighbors across the street. The skunk was in the back part or out property. The police then did show up and saw my wife with the gun and there was no issue. Animal control was called by the police. They took the skunk and had it tested. It was confirmed to be rabid. So then who was the uninformed party in this case. Faster
Recurve hntr
Yeah my town would put you away for life. Lol. I actually have a red fox walking around my neighborhood. See it all hours of the day. I’m thinking it definitely has mange because it’s pretty much bald. It may have rabies also. It’s not very scared of people. It was walking around with someone’s chicken a few weeks back.
