Caught a nice mess of Blowfish in Barnegat Bay. A single 17 and 3/4 fluke committed suicide, so he joined the party. Left them biting as I was fishing alone and didn't want to clean any more.

Always wanted to target blowfish... what kind of tackle/lures do you use? Are they in the back bays or only ocean-side?

UPDATE: oh, I just noticed you said  Barnegat Bay... I fish a lot in the Great Bay, not too far away. I guess they are down here in our bays? I still don't know how to catch them, though

Anchor up, chum with clam.  Small pieces of squid or clam on a  blowfish rig. If you don't get them in 10 minutes move to another place.

Whats a good chum or bait bucket to use? I never chummed before.. Don't even know what kind of bucket to use.

I assume most bait shops can sell you frozen chum you put in the bucket?
