How long has that store bought stuff been on the shelf?

Do you really want to chance it?

Is it even real?                My Scents run approximately $4.58 an OUNCE! Great value for the buck.

I have an excellent source of fresh doe estrous urine and rutting buck urine. The deer are kept under light controlled conditions to trigger both an estrous cycle and rut cycle.
My all natural scents are collected twice daily from shed housed deer. Double floored to ensure nothing unwanted gets in there. No additives or preservatives. What you get is 100% urine from doe in the height of their estrous ...cycle and urine from rutting bucks. YOU get the best as a result. All the hormones, pheromones and secretions that a female deer leaves for a rutting male to find!

The pens are thoroughly cleaned on a daily basis. I do not mix scent except for the Scrape Inferno. What you get will be from an individual deer. The urine is collected only from adult doe during the height of their estrous cycle. No yearlings or fawns. Buck urine is collected from both young (2.5yo) and older (3.5yo &up) while they are rutting. It is some of the highest quality available anywhere in the country. Its been proven to work.
The herd has been tested regularily for the last 10 years and proven to be Cwd free. There is almost 5oz of scent into these bottles!

Excellent product, and great value!!!!!  Been using it for three years, never had a deer spook or come in on alert like they do with the commercial scents

How many bucks did you harvest or see using it? I'm sure it's good stuff,I just can't justify paying that kind of money for it.

I haven't scored on any bucks, but it has drawn in a few excellent bucks that I got on cam which in turn made me hunt these bucks only and let the smaller ones walk. If you think of it, Tink's and brands like it are selling for $10 per 1 ounce versus this scent $22 per 4.8 ounces and it fresh from a farm, where as Tink's and other brands like it could be sitting in a warehouse for months till it reaches the store

Keep yourself as scent free as possible

Play the wind

Make a scrape in a funnel, scape has to have a licking branch, bend it over and zip tie it. A buck will rub his orbital glands on it. A buck will also squat down and piss over his tarsal into the scrape...

Remember it's a signpost for ALL deer not just bucks. Doe will piss just as much or more sometimes than buck will.

Older buck scent will sometimes scare younger buck away. Use that for hunting a single big buck in your area.

Does dribble when they piss....so run your scent drag away from a scrape on a known doe trail.

Good point cost wise, those are bigger bottles of scent for sure and the cost breakdown is actually cheaper around $5.50/oz for much fresher stuff

I'm with HH, I must have no clue how to use scents effectively.  I've had deer respond curiously, but not much success.  Definitely have done way better with calling than scents, but I know plenty of guys that have killed some big bucks with scents.  I think I just suck at it haha

To elaborate on my ignorance, I need to understand better what a scrape is.  What deer look for in a scrape.  And then from there I can start to understand how I need to create a scrape and use a scent with it.

I have some understanding, but being the nerd that I am I need as much information as possible before I start committing to making my own and spending money.  In the past I've bought stuff with the intention of using it but never getting around to it.  So I don't want to have to have the wife pester me in December about the bottle of deer piss still in the fridge.   :nerd:

you don't always need a scrape to hunt with scent effectively......   Many many times if the location wasnt perfect for a scrape I didn't use one while using scent. That was usually in spots I knew a big buck would travel but wasnt necessarily hanging around in. Just a basic travel route.... I would run just a soaked up drag rag from my stand towards the direction I expected a buck to come from. Also field edges are great for this too! Just pretend to be a hot doe dribbling her goodies for an unsuspecting male...

Thanks for the info. Here's my particular situation: I'm hunting private land on the top plateau of a hill. It's a small area, maybe 3 acres of a larger 100+ acres of private land. I have other folks hunting the other side of the hill and other spots in the rest of the 100 acres. It's zone 3, which has a lot of pressure and the overall harvest is small compared to the top zones (zone 8's now season harvest is a few times larger than our entire seasonal harvest, based on 2914 #s in this year's guide). I have does come in, but I need a 3-point or larger to shoot a buck, and that's where I think scents may help.

So for me it's a matter of using a scent, the right kind, effectively in my small plot of a larger plot that sees a good amount of pressure. So I trying to understand the science and create a strategy based on my particular circumstances. So although my site sees some traffic, mostly small bucks and does, and it's a small patch of geography, do I use a buck scent and make a mock scrape, or do I use a drop with doe scent, or do I sprinkle and drag a mentioned above? It's those kinds of questions I need to try to answer.
