Cool baseball story.

My son plays for a travel baseball team. We had a tournament in Somerville nj today and tomorrow. There was a lot of teams. One team showed up in different color hats , Jerseys and duct tape numbers on their shirts. The coach looked like he was about 15, his shirt read, “I love hot moms!” One kid never played a game of baseball but he was a fast soccer player. They just wanted him to walk and get on base. They won their first game in the bottom of the 7th!!! Apparently they were just neighborhood kids that raised money and wanted to play. We are all rooting for them to win the tourney tomorrow. #SANDLOT

Did anyone check birth certificates?

I know when I played we had to have birth certificates?

I am asking because I am noticiing leagues DO NOT CHECK birth certificates and go by the parents statement.

Coaches can challenge eligibility anytime, I have seen it happen and kids get disqualified because they were lying about their age, it happened last season in a tournament in Trenton and the team that won the tournament  was disqualified.

They are supposed to but there are more than a couple dishonest coaches out there who try to slip a kid in thats not qualified.
