This heat is going to be brutal!!

Wife's parents were supposed to spend a few days down in Ocean City MD this week. They went down a yesterday and are leaving early to come back today. They said heat is just horrible and there's not even a decent cool breeze coming off the ocean, even during the evening. 

Can't say I blame them, they're both older with heart issues and just staying inside hotel room sitting in A/C is not much of a vacation.

There is a good chance we will experience brown outs or a loss of power as people crank up the AC this week.

Agreed.  Likely to be preceded by, or followed by, drought and water restrictions.  At least for down here in Ocean county.  Way to dry.  Thank goodness for still half full rain barrels for the garden.

We already had one brownout earlier this AM.  We got enough water with the last storm, and there is some additional precipitation in the forecast, so I am hoping we don't go full-on drought with restrictions.

I took a stroll in the woods behind my house. Everything is seriously parched. The ground is so dry it's cracking.
