bigger smallmouth this morning

both bass were caught on drifting  wooley buggers through deep runs. rivers feel like bath water. 

16" smallmouth. boga grip read 3.5 pounds. released to make another fisherman happy. i hope this one finds @Timofly on sunday. 

another destroyed fly lol. sometimes i think they like when the fly doesnt look fresh off the vise.

you bet. this one was peeling drag once i got all the slack line off the water. i tried getting this one on the reel asap. i love catching river smallmouth, but after july im gonna switch over to carp on the fly. stay tuned!

That’s an absolute hog of a river smallie. Nice job. I’m hoping to get the skunk off the fly rod lol

Last year I was reduced to a spillway sunny to get that skunk off  the fly rod lol!!
