Bear Sightings in NJ

Murphy and his party’s typical democrat policies….they just don’t work!!  Not working is a common theme with his party. They hired a few bear technicians to deal with these nuisance bears…tax dollars that could be used for homeless vets, open space, paving the horrible roads, etc….but this horse toothed nimnoy spends our tax dollars on non lethal management of a growing game species that the state, especially rural communities from an economic ripple effect, would actually make money from if there was a season.  Stupid is as stupid does. Wait til ya see how much it’s guna cost taxpayers, farmers, etc when they are out of control in south jersey. How many more years are we stuck with this douche mouth….4 more gut wrenching yrs of crap?!  Puke. Time to move

In the last week there have been at least 5 confirmed sightings backed by videos and pics in holmdel, Marlboro and Old Bridge. Possibly the same bear traveling but won’t be long before more show up. People have posted videos from their Ring cameras. Friend of mine sent a pic from his phone of one on side of road heading into woods.

Even though we’ve always had a healthy bear population in Warren County, I’ve never seen so many bears before. I used to see them here and there (when not hunting). This spring it’s now the norm. More road kill bears then I’ve ever seen before as well.

I am fairly confident that when the bears start showing up in our blueberry fields, they will "magically disappear".... blueberry farmers aren't going to mess around.

Already happening. Allegedly...lol.

Especially when Yogi starts chasing the farmers seasonal help. Lol.

Add Freehold to that list.

There are a lot more sightings and damage up here than what gets reported.  We're so used to it nobody bothers.  It's not going to change anything with 'Mr Follow The Science' (until the science doesn't go along with the politics) is in office.

Agreed. I can’t remember calling the Division over the last 30 years for bear damage. But we have also learned so much about reducing bear attention to food items during that time. I have more bears here than ever, but less damage because we take great pains to reduce their food sources such as bird food and garbage.

You all up there should get together and make a pact - every time you see a bear on your property, everyone should agree to call DFW and report the sighting. If the bear knocks over your garbage, report it.

If the needle only moves when the numbers of sightings and damage reports go up, then give them the data they are asking for.
