I feel the same way. I fly fish a local pond and really enjoy catching big bluegills. Never caught one that big.

That's a big bluegill. 

When I was younger on vacation with my family in Vermont, my brother caught a huge sunfish. It ended up being the Vermont state record for many years. 

It was huge. I remember when he caught it. 

We had left our poles in the water on the end of the dock. 

That sunny hit that pole and almost pulled it in the water. 

He barely got to the pole before it went in lol 

The damn thing was huge. Lol
