Looks like one that's about to be squished or sucked into the filter.  I've seen them before  but was never really interested where it came from but knew where it was going.  Hope your pool is warmer than mine. A few degrees colder and I'll need an ice auger to vacuum the bottom.

I've been swimming a couple times on the hotter days! Definitely takes a second to get used to the polar plunge! Haha, not quite that bad but it's chilly! Nice on those 90+ degree days we've been having.

Oh, the nerd card is still intact.  I didn't take the image and plop it into a Google search algorithm and statistically correlate hits to come up with a conclusion.  This was an honest guess, all gray matter.  And I failed...

Almost looks like the bug thats been devasating Maple trees and I think is the USDA enemy number 1........
