Estate help

Recommended Posts

Over the last decade I've had a few relatives pass away. Some left me items. The valuable items I keep and have no interest in selling. But how to deal with other items. That aren't worthless but maybe 20-50 value that just take up space and will never be used. Example bulova watches from the 60s or currency from countries they visited.  Anyone ever liquidate things such as this?

If they are yours you can sell them however you wish

Currency from other countries virtually just cool to look at. Bulova oh wow I forgot about them I had one as a kid. Nice watches. Take them to a jewelry store and let them appraise them, whatever they offer is basically  $0.25 on the dollar.

I know that but where. Literally peice out each item? Or is there a place I can wholesale them the whole lot.

You would probably do better piecing them out, but if its easier you can have an estate sale firm handle it it for you. They take a cut but it may be easier on you to have them do the work for you

If you want to keep selling on e-bay simple, ship in USPS Flat Rate Boxes. I personally have several scales and many different size boxes always on hand. If you have to ship larger parcels cross country, its usually cheaper to ship VIA UPS. Seems like my biggest item always end up going to South Texas or California. I ship a lot of Harley Davidson parts to Japan.

I agree with Trap ...its just easier on eBay. There're going to keep about 13% ...but the whole world will see it.

And, like Trap ... I keep a variety of the free USPS boxes on hand, flat rate and others.  I print out the USPS labels right in eBay, little discount off of retail prices,  tape them to the box, and leave it on my porch for my mailman to pick up. Easy

Trap is also right about the heavier stull will cheaper with UPS or FedEx. Still print out the labels in eBay.

Good luck.
