Haven’t been seeing them here either, strange.

No squirrels in my area. Been hunting this area on and off most of my life 60 plus and this is a first .

Squirrel  populations are directly related to the predators in the area and the acorn crop.  They bounce back quick though too.  The rut will start in late November so you’ll see some males about looking for females.

Can confirm that property I hunt in Z25 is loaded with acorns and plenty of squirrels. From my own observations they've been leaving corn kernels alone and going after the acorns.

All day sit today in PA and never saw one. Was overrun with Chipmunks.

Squirrel and chipmunk numbers are down because of last year's lack of acorns.  Their reproductive rates are extremely high so they will rebound quickly.
