Big Woods Trips?

Nothing like the big woods for deer hunting.   The numbers are alot lower then the suburbs deer, but for me it's the challenge,  adventure,   always thinking what's on or over that next ridge or mountain.

I hunted in the Adirondacks back in 1990 with my dad 

It was a great experience and only 2 bucks were taken that week with 6 hunters in camp

So much different than hunting here in NJ

I just got back from 3 days Muzzy hunting in the ADK.  12 guys no deer seen. Covered tons of ground. Hoping it was the warm temps and the incoming full moon that had them shut down. Be back up for 10 days on the 13th of Nov. Possibly a short trip before then if any  snow shows up.

The usual sitting back home at the hunting club in northern Wayne county PA.  Hunting the mountains and sleeping in the loft in the shack for a few days.  Crapping in an outhouse.  It ain’t much but it’s paradise to me!

Great North Woods/Pittsburg NH in November. Couple of us from here headed up, can't wait...

Wow, I know deer are scarce in Maine, but that’s 36 man days of hunting, that’s a lot.

I will be heading up to Bingham Maine once again for the third week in November. Last November, I had a fleeting glimpse of the legendary Silver Ridge Bucks great grandson. Going up to hunt for him again soon! Can't wait!

Loved that write-up.  And the first few lines are deceiving:  NJ has 350,000 acres of public hunting land, but where we were in NH, one town has 150,000 acres of huntable land.  Mountains, swamps, lakes, logging roads, and weather that can change in an instant.  I love going up there every year.

Was just up the golden road a few weeks ago grouse hunting. Not many birds this year but we saw deer cross the road in a few places...we have never seen deer cross the road, so you might be in for a better deer season this year.

Gilboa, NY for a week of rifle and then muzzy, see a third of the deer up there we see down here but not hearing cars, dogs barking, hikers, etc. is soooo much more enjoyable than hunting close to home.

Also going to OH for muzzy in January but that’s more edges and fields.

Been going up to Potter/Tioga county since 1981. Not much has changed up there except the bucks are bigger and the mountains are taller.  Can’t  wait for Thanksgiving.
