Just got in from predator hunting. I thought for sure it would be a great night. Front moving in soon, really cold temps, I thought for sure they'd have to eat anything that screams, squeals or squeaks. Not a single eyeball or even a distant bark or howl though. Nothing but the sound of silence.

My buddy successfully got in trouble with his wife though. lol A little bit ago I get a text from my brother saying Johns wife is texting and very concerned. Turns out he forgot his phone in his truck. 7 missed calls when we got back.  I dont get 7 phone calls a year. lol....He asked if I want to buy his light. lol

Women, can't live with them and you can't live with them.

“I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target, but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature’s way of fang and claw and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow.” – Fred Bear

I do the same thing County Hunter. Sometimes I spend more time in the woods in the Winter than any other time. Between scouting and predator hunting, I really do enjoy the Winter. It's a nice time to get out there.

Well when I have a working vehicle anyway. I'm done having fun for the Winter now. A new to me, $22K F250 sits broken a month after buying it. It's way too cold to work on it without a garage so I was relegated to the old jeep, which starting yesterday no longer wants to move either. All the trans fluid is burnt, so could be the trans cooler. I'll start with a fluid/filter change and band adjustment but again, too cold to work on anything.

Everything has been going wrong lately, so that's when I just strap on a helmet and duck for cover because if it weren't for bad luck, I would have no luck at all.

Thinking about getting a horse and buggy next.

What Happened to the Ford?

EGR cooler failure.

Coolant is leaking into the intake manifold through the EGR cooler, it billows white smoke and had no power. NOT GOOD!....Common problem for the 6.0L though. I was told it was "bullet proofed" though, so this should never have happened. After pulling the EGR valve though, it's evident it was actually neglected. Sooted up like crazy and some gooey soot caked all over. I should be able to fix it, but I have to tear into it when it gets warmer, not now, too cold.

Plus the truck is so tall (stock) that I have to stand on something to work inside the engine bay. My old Ram was the same way, but I was able to stand on the bumper. This one I can't. I almost fell and killed myself the other day standing on a bucket in the snow/ice. Bucket went one way and I went the other. I'm gonna have to build some kind of platform to stand on, maybe I can hook something up to the tow hooks. Or just stop paying and let the bank come take it. lol

Ford = Fix Or Repair Daily

Matt, don't you have an extra tree ladder you can strap to the side of the truck. Don't forget to wear a safety harness too!

Sapere aude.

Audeamus.

When you cannot measure, your knowledge is meager and unsatisfactory.

I am not sure I would take a 6.0L diesel for free. Maybe one with 8k cash in the glove box.

I spent most of my money on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.
