i use to have an old town discovery 119. camo of course. but sold it years ago. used it for river fishing, duck hunting, and trapping.

old town came out with a discovery sportsman 119 a couple years ago. called a few dealers.placed my deposit and the solo canoe should be here by the end of september. this newer version has the same hull design but with more features like storage, rod holders, and seat with backrest.  looking forward to getting it on the rivers. 56 pounds.

Nice boat I was considering one earlier this year for duck hunting.  I chose the Ascend H12 because it was cheaper hahaha which is very unlike me.  Now they have raised the price on the Ascends

Ascends aren’t light and the most nimble but they are stupid steady. I frequently stand in mine with no worries. One of the better purchases I’ve made.

Good luck with her.

Did your old canoe have the seat elevated off the floor?  The new one has the seat almost on the floor. Personally I felt paddling a bit awkward. But I only was in it for about 5 minutes.

old one came with the traditional webbing seat. but i removed that and installed a seat from the pack canoe. which was also low in the canoe.

I removed the factory seat and my Alps Legend layout slipped in perfectly. It has been very stable even took it around great bay. The gear track mounting points are plentiful

Nice ride !!

That layout looks like it was custom made for it. Nice setup you’ve got there.
