Took my son out hunting yesterday to a property in Zone 8. He passed up a few small bucks and shot this big doe. It's his fourth deer since November all shot with his T/C muzzle loader. He told me that I need to retire from hunting and just become his hunting guide. LOL! I told him that I'm going to start charging him then.

That's Great!!

My daughter and I were out yesterday too.  Nothing better than hunting with your kids.

I get a lot of enjoyment hunting with my boys. Most of the time, I don't even bring a gun including yesterday. I let him make the decision to shoot or not to shoot. I told him that he's responsible once he squeezes the trigger. It's all him and not me. Yesterday, he passed on several small bucks because, he was looking for a bigger one or a mature doe. I make him track the deer if needed, field dress it and drag it back to the truck. Yesterday, was the first time that he ever skinned a deer.

Oh that kid will be busting chops nonstop for the rest of the season and into the next! Somehow I think Tarhunt is OK with that though...then again maybe not

I'm fine with it. He's a true ball buster. He's always on my case about missing deer or ducks. But, it's all in fun. I'm just glad that he wants to hunt and fish.
