Instant read thermo Recommendations

Looking for an accurate instant read meat probe for the grill/pellet grill.  What’s everyone using that they are happy with that isn’t crazy expensive?  Thanks

There are quick-read thermometers and then there are remote thermometers.  Which are you interested in?  I have both.

That's $11 and used in professional kitchens.

That one is $46 and comes with two probes.  If you are cooking two things, great.  If you are cooking one, you can use the other probe for the temp of your grill.  More accurate than those lid-based thermometers.  The remote works great and has an alarm you can set.

I guess instant? If I’m smoking on the pellet grill I don’t see myself leaving throughout the day unless it’s the early stages. Something to check steaks,chicken etc as it’s cooking so I don’t overcook the meat.  I have a tendency to overcook lol but as I get deeper into smoking maybe I’ll start looking into ones with an app so I can monitor from the phone

The one I recommended is cheaper.  Because I'm cheap.

Pyrex makes a good one like 20 something bucks I’ve been using it for about fifteen years and never changed the battery yet. And they still sell them. It has a auto alert

For instant read I went with thermoworks mk4. 

To monitor stuff on the pellet smoker I went with cheapie wireless set up form amazon and the temp reads same as my thermoworks instant. It also has temp alarms so when target temp is there, you know it. Plus a low and high temp alarm can be set which I do for overnight smokes then put it on my dresser so if something goes wrong I might get woken up.
