Its happening because black community leaders refuse to acknowledge the problem exists or refuse to do anything about. They are concentrating on few black people killed by police while black people are killing each other at an alarming rate of over 80% or about 2,400/year.

The newest in the rave of gangs that gets me, is killing each other over social media content. Delaware has multiple gangs that frequent southern NJ, and travel all the way up to CT to steal cars and such.  However gangs are traditional geographically based. These new gangs all live in the same neighborhoods and get their “beef” over music videos and social media posts. Literally killing each other over it. It’s a prime example of gang culture going from a way of survival, to being  purely inspired by the culture type of environment. There’s literally no reason for them to kill each other but, it’s what they’ve grown up to know from gang culture on TV 🤦🏼‍♂️

That's the perverse thing about the US--we have so much, even now, that there's no reason for this idiocy except for an absent moral center. And that's true from small town, rural white Indiana to black inner cities like the focus on this thread. What's the cause of the absent or waning moral center? It's certainly not some easy answer like the internet or the media or "liberalism" or "neo-conservatism." It's much more deeply rooted. 

I hear something similar from the "illegals" who get so criticized here, but are amazed by the wealth and the depravity they encounter when they do our dirty work. They come up, work their butts off to enrich the local "send them home" hypocrite crowd, and then their US-born kids end up doing significantly more crimes and doing worse in school than the previous generation, as the born-in-US become Americanized in sync with their 'native' HS classmates. What's up with that? The problems don't come from outside, but from inside.

This is an important point, but did ya ever stop to think that maybe the two sides of the problem are linked by some bigger issue?
