Every year it seems like this . 15 or so years ago did a drop camp for elk in September in the Bob Marshall . Very hot and dry . Not good for elk but prime for fire . Outfitter almost came and got us out early because of all the fires . It’s pretty amazing what those burns turn into . Awesome habitat for wildlife .
Are you out there now Little M ?

In NJ now.   Helicopter and fixed wing dropped water and retardant on it as well as fought by local FD's and forest service. Its burning on the west side currently.

The wacko environmental libs are the reason for the intense fires.

Whenever controled burns and brush removal projects are planned the enviro wackos step in to stop them.

Then when there is  a wildfire they scream... GLOBAL WARMING!  Goof balls!

Forest fires are a frightening danger. The memory of the sound of the roar itself  will keep you awake for days after its over. Almost like PTSD.

Not at all true in Montana where this photo was taken. You’re thinking of California.

I've never been on a fire of that caliber but have been on a few in nj and you are absolutely correct.  The sound emitted even from a controlled burn can be loud.  I've also been on fire when planes drop water that fun but when they say get in the black do it that water hits with force
