Lost Firearms ID

Recently moved and cannot find my firearms ID. Was looking to purchase a new pistol. Do I have to report that it’s lost? Also I’m assuming I’ll have to go through the process from scratch again?

Report that it is lost to the PD you are applying to. It will be an an easy report to document. Those that commit identity theft are extremely creative. Upon issuance of a new card you are to surrender the old one

First let ,me say YOU SHOULD IMMEDIATELY REPORT THE LOST FID and any other forms of identification you might loose. Identify theft is at an all time high and any piece of personal information they get on you helps the thieves to steal your identity.

Getting a replacement now is all done online and yes you will have to start over again and be finger printed. It really is a painless processes at least here in Mercer County.

Don’t need to get printed again, but he will need his SBI number.

No fingerprinting required. By statute it is at the discretion of the Chief in the place where you are applying. Most only require a submission of a Form 212A which is the online background search by the NJSP
