PA's Bear Opener Today

Anyone know if good bears taken today?  I almost hit one on Rt. 739 this morning, about 1.5 miles west of the Digmans Ferry Bridge

I've never hunted PA for bear, but our camp is getting pushed by the neighbors today, I'll bet.  They do large drives in PA where our camp is located (Potter) and it becomes a big family and friends event.  And they shoot some bears!

If memory serves, they used to have it Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving and only added today (Sat.) somewhat recently.  Now I think it is Saturday, closed Sunday, then open again Mon. - Wed.  And some zones are open part of rifle deer season if you buy the bear tag for those zones.  Ours is one of them, but we don't see lots of bears, so I don't bother.

 

 

You know that I will be seeing a giant boar broadside at 10 yards on opening day of rifle deer season now that I went and said that.............

There's no doubt in my mind
