Headed out into a squirrely ocean last night with Booner and his son .
made bait second toss of the net and started hunting .
was not super easy to see them in rough water but we went from pod to pod searching .

marked a few but nothing great

had one half hearted run off and Brandon had a big bass swirl on another bait for almost a minute and not eat it .

south winds cranked up really chilling the water .
IMO what I saw last night is some more fish are in the bunker schools now .

just have to have some better tide conditions .
I’m pretty sure a few hours after we pulled out they would chew .

as we were there hour before and after slack tide .

few good days of west wind the ocean bite going to heat up

I hate South wind.

Me too,

no matter what the forcast is. Come around 2 pm almost everyday someone turns on the switch .

just don’t remember it being as bad , until the last ten years or so.

‘many times it dictates where I will be fishing.

ride home even in the contender sucks at times.

Took the kids to the beach to walk last night.   Brought. Rod n some plugs.  Hard south wind made it very difficult.   Had one on but dropped on a storm shad.  Kids got chilly wife said ill take them to the arcade why don't u fish the bay for an hour.  Went to a spot where I could put the wind at my back and ended up with 3 on a pink popper this being the biggest.

Nice

Bay bite has been good for almost 2 months already .
ocean bite seems to get later every year .
fish are moving out of the Chesapeake so it should be good soon unless they stay out in the deep .
we had bass chasing sea bass Saturday in 120’ of water

Nice to see you post good and bad days.

This was one of your good days.

Hopefully the Chesapeake fishery can recover and days like that become the norm again .
Sadly I think they waited to long to protect the big breeders .
