Got a new motor for the boat

Got a new 30hp on the duranautic today,  good riddance to the etec cant wait to get back to fishing and crabbing

That's a good choice. I know of at least 4 guys with either 25etec or 30etecs and every freakin year they got issues. I have a 14 Duranautic and opted for a plain ole carbed four stroke.

I have an old tohatsu....thing starts w 1st pull, always. Love them

My other motor was a 25 etec i had bought new with this boat when it ran it was a great motor but that's the key word WHEN , never was able to make a season without some sort of issues mostly vst pumps , after lots of reading and searching forums the Tohatsu seam to have the least issues if any , took it out and got it to 31mph at 5600 rpm and 28 with 2 guys , i can prob drop down to a 13 pitch and get the rpm near peak but that's more then good for me.
