Good Morning out today with Grandson for the very 1st time. Worked birds at 1st light and at a little after six boom neighbor shoots, waited until 7 and started  calling again had hens talking to us but they must have been with the shot bird, they came into the decoy 20 yards and we had some fun purring with them, Grandson got to do some calling and he brought in a third hen. No TOMS TODAY but the boy had fun and I had even more being with him.

Wed I will take his twin brother out and will stay away from the property line this time so I am not helping neighbors.

Me and a bud were out in Zone 8, 2 days of scouting and one day of hunting, we saw zero birds, heard zero birds, we did see 4 coyotes.  It was windy and cold, a guy on the next farm over (we were hunting State Land) decided to drive all the way in to his spot a hundred yards from us.  Also found were the farmer left a log splitter and a big pile of wood.  Tomorrow is the last day of A week for us.  Good luck all and congrats to the successful hunters!

Zone 21 all quiet had a guy set up across the field from me and my decoys, probably 40 yards from my truck, calling back every time I call... that’s public land hunting sometimes I guess

Probably trying to get the decoys to walk to his side? Bet he had no clue they were decoys. 🤣🤣

Z14 Pulled up into my spot at 3:55 and of course there was a truck already there. Heard his shot at 5:48am.  Plan B didn't pan out and went mobile around 7.

Met the guy who killed the tom - he was from Kentucky.

Unreal.

Tough day in Z9. Heard 4 distant gobbles off the roost couldn’t get them to respond to anything. Then proceeded to walk >5 miles of non-flat terrain. Tomorrow is a new day.

So you have gobblers there. You have four more weeks of season. I don't know how much time you have to pursue the bird work-wise family wise  or permit wise or turkey hunting wise. I personally would have held my ass tight. A couple yelps they pinpointed you, do not over call!!.. they may have been on their way to you they're very known to come in quiet. It could take an hour be still,be patient!.. good luck tomorrow 👍
