I took my camera off the log crossing (temporarily) and added another to the field for purpose of gearing up for six-day (primarily bears).

This is from a large swamp where I had shot my last bear (2013).  I just started a bait site here, with just corn and pumpkins and one block thing I purchased from Tractor Supply.

This is from my usual opening morning six-day spot, again a spot usually polluted with bears and again just baited with corn and a block thingy.  HHmmmmmm.

Wow, that's a great buck.

By the way, Matty is so excited about seeing his first rattlesnake this Saturday.  He can't stop talking about it.

Gorgeous buck!

Rusty, I've already seen and almost stepped on a rattlesnake once a few years back. I wouldn't feel dejected if I never saw another one. lol

Not 100% certain I can go, but I think I'll be able to.

“I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target, but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature’s way of fang and claw and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow.” – Fred Bear

Little late in the year for snakes.  Hope for NW winds.  I saw a bunch of raptors on Friday, including some GE's but Saturday was a bust .....................  Once six-day is over, I'll be waiting for late April to start snakin' again ..................
