Opening day at Whittingham

I took TroutandBucks and my buddy Tom and his son, Trevor out this morning with my Brittany, Rusty.  My daughter joined us for the walk.  I left the gun at home and just enjoyed dog handling and the beautiful cold morning weather.  I was shocked that we were able to find some far less than crowded areas and the dog performed perfectly.  My hunters not so much, though.  They thought their jobs were to punch holes in any clouds so the sun could shine through.  Killing pheasants was apparently lost on them, even though they had staunch points to let them know where the birds were.

I'm sure was a great day. I don't pheasant hunt anymore but when I did my favorite part was watching the dogs work. Gorgeous dog also.
