Hah mine vary anywhere from 50 yards to 3/4 mile off a road generally. The closer stands I'm usually still parking 200-300 yards away though. In Ohio a few years back I google earth path tracked the mileage to my stand and it was a 2.5 mile walk each way. Those were long days!

50 miles + 600yards...

Not how far it is from your house to zone 7.

from where I park the truck or from home

How deep into the woods from the nearest road.

Hunters are no different than any other people - we lie like a rug.  What most guys will tell you is that they hunt way away from others and deep into the woods.  Figure 200 yards at most for the average hunter.  And maybe 400 yards for the hard core guys.  I have stands in PA that are a full mile from the nearest road, but we drive a quad nearly right to it on our private land, so I am no better  :)

50 yards to my "gun" stand.  Well, maybe 45 yards.  I used to walk 0.5 +/- miles to a good morning stand (per Google Earth).  That was the long way around as I could have walked a 100 yards or so if I was hunting it in the afternoon.  Sandy ruined that when she downed all the trees and anyway, I am way to lazy now-a-days.

It varies greatly. My furthest stand this year is right around a mile from where I park, and a good distance away from trails, but only about 150 yds from a nearby road. I have another thats a little under a half mile walk with no roads nearby, but its only 100 yds from a main hiking trail.

I think my shortest walk this season is about 80 yds from where I park.

And I have good spots that are less than 40 yds from major hiking trails.

Hopefully this will make sense...See, I try not to ever let distance from trails or roads influence stand site selection, but I do greatly consider entry and exit routes to keep them as low impact as possible. I'd rather walk 300 yds thru a creek to get to a spot you could walk 50 yds to if the creek entry better hides my presence. Or walk forever down a major hiking trail to slip a short distance off of it, instead of taking a shortcut but walking thru quality ground.

I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature’s way of fang and claw and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow.” – Fred Bear

My phone gives me the distance I have walked. I usually go a greater distance mowing the lawn.

I spent most of my money on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.

My one spot in pa is an honest 2 miles from the nearest road. No atv use allowed. I walk it.

For the most part most of my spots in pa vary between 1/8 of a mile to a half mile.

In jersey I've yet to hunt anywhere where I was more than an 500 yards from a road or house or field.

New Jersey hunting for me is easy as pie, from car to farthest  stand is 300 yards on public land. Private land 200 yards. In my NYS public stand it was 600 yards at least, went there last week and moved it closer to 300 - 400 yards but it still is uphill all the way back to car.
