Neighbor just moved here from PA

He applied for fid ,how does he go about registering a pistol here that he had registered in PA

He lived in philly ...i can see why he got of there but i asked the same question......

I thought he had to register it..maybe not as long as he gets his fid?

Remember, FID has nothing to do with handgun ownership  (except for the case in buying ammo for it - then you have to show it). Just because you have an FID doesn't mean anything when it comes to handgun ownership or possession.

I don't know the answer to the OP's question, but I do know the law regarding FID is for long guns, not handguns.

No need to register it as long as it was purchased legally at the initial point of purchase and it is a NJ legal firearm. Any subsequent handguns purchased as a NJ resident will require a NJ handgun permit

You can't feed the handgun without the FID. If you are going to get one, get both all at once

Tell him not worry about it. He will see what NJ is like and will be moving  back to PA soon enough

Thanks guys...except for his dog pissing on my lawn hes an ok dude.i dont think he had any clue about his guns coming here.new mags is something he has to get

Why the move?  Is mental health care better here?  I cannot really think why any sane person would do that to themselves.
