Pit Boss Pro Series 4 - Pellet Smoker - Anyone Own One?

There are many on the market. I have a Pit-boss. It can be used as a smoker and grill
 

This ^^^^^ have the same one and love it. Less then half the cost of a traeger the same size.

Pit Boss is good, Rec Tec & Mac are the best. Treagers are complete junk.

you'll love it. 

I picked up a zgrills unit and got a super deal on a weber gas grill, so I have both types.

for my grill i picked up a probe unit that transmits to a reciever that reaches everywhere in the house. i put it in the bed room with temp alarms set when doing an overnight smoke.

I have smoked pork ribs, pork butts/shoulder,prime ribs, chuck roasts, chicken breast, turkey beast, ham, roast beef, brisket, hotdogs, italian  sausage and not sure what else.

the chicken, turkey and roast beefs make super delish lunch meat.

Alot of good info/recipes on amazingribs.com 

thermo probe i got, thermo. i also picked up a thermopen.

I just got a pit boss from Lowe's.  Why wood someone pick this style above over the "grill" type configuration?  I'm new at this thanks

It's a 5 cubic foot smoker, it's a lot bigger than the grill and if you smoke  a lot of stuff it is easier to use than the grill/smoker.

Definitely fit more product in the cabinet style smoker

Gotcha!  Ok more capacity.  I am looking foward to smoking my own snack sticks and summer sausage this fall/ winter guess I'll make smaller batches

I have a pit boss Austin 1000 .

‘IMO  the Austin is actually too big

According to the internet you have 1000 Sq ft of surface and the cabinet style is 1513 square ft.

The 1513 is a cubed  measurement .

I have five racks that measure 12" x 20". Figure 1200 square. It is not a small smoker.

Doing the burn off period that Pt Boss calls for. Says to tun the smoker at any temp over 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes to burn off any glue and/or contaminates.

We need a new grill...& I want to join the smoking crew....and a low maintenance smoking method without having to check it all the time....seems like Pit Boss would be a good combo?  Where can I get best price?  ShAma-zon? I bet they are on back order like everything else being bought for backyard home enjoyment during the Plandemic!
