Fishers

Lately there has been a couple of posts that have confused fishers with mink. Pulled some cards over the weekend, these are fishers. Big difference from a mink

Definitely there is a difference! Especially the tapered tail much like an otter. Mink tails are somewhat straight.

Wow! Like the Arnold  Schwarzenegger of minks. Looks like if that was a mink he would be "pumped up" and on steroids. Those things are like an otter, badger, weasel and mink all rolled into one. Haven't heard much positive about them. I know they are a turkey's worse nightmare. Bud sent me an article about a guy in Connecticut that was climbing into his tree stand in the dark and a fisher was in it. Ended pretty bad with the guy breaking an arm, back, rabies shots and more. They both hit the ground with the fisher on him, but the fall didn't mean anything to the fisher. He kept on attacking the guy.
