PA Small Game Camp 2014

I missed this annual event for the only time since college last year with my surgery, a span of about 30 years.  I sure wasn't going to miss it a second time!  As always, a great time spent with great friends, both new and old.  TroutandBucks made his first trip with me this year.  Other than hearing "Dueling Banjos" in his head all 4 days, I think he had a great time

The current accommodations..... (one trailer and one small cabin recently joined by a much larger, brand new cabin built by the local Amish)

 

Some of the day's take.  Over the 4 days, we had 11 hunters.  Some came early and left early due to work obligations and others came late for the same reason.

A little stand maintenance by TroutandBucks.....

 

The obligatory bonfire each night, watching shooting stars and staring at the Milky Way while enjoying your favorite adult beverage or two...

 

And topping off each day with a home cooked meal.  This one was venison loins and goose, all grilled.  We also snacked on rabbits, grouse and woodcock earlier in the evening

 

I'm looking forward to rifle season with most of these same guys in a few short weeks.

Shot my first woodcock end the trip with 3 and shot my first grouse as well.

Agree, nothing like camp.  The actual hunt and harvest are just the fringe benefits, IMO.
