Shad Darts/Spoons

SPEARFISH

Recommended Posts

So, here I am talking about it again, and maybe I'll give it a try this year.

What/Where should I get for darts spoons.  I remember a post a while back about putting a small sinker and then tying a dart about 2 ft down.  Any good websites to buy some?  I see them on ebay.

Hardcore makes and sells reasonable priced spoons , has listings on EBay

darts  I buy on EBay from Jason’s tackle , then paint and tie them myself .

spoons are very easy to make also , it’s just a #2 willow with a soldered Aberdeen hook . Then paint with testers model paint using a q tip

Use “inline” sinkers with or without swivel followed by 30” of 8# flourocarbon  leader. I like small darts 1/16 to 1/32 ounce. I will get u some. 1/4 ounce inline sinker is the standard.  Definitely need those with swivels for spoons.  Hardcore are good as mentioned. Tinman lures on eBay is making nice colorful darts made out of tin. The small sizes I like will weigh less than my lead versions (pictured). Darts I basically go with green chartreuse of hot pink.  This first pic has some 3/8, 1/4 and 1/8 ounce darts that I love to use on a double dart rig. Put the heavy dart on smallest possible dropper loop to get it to pass through followed by 2’ of leader with the smaller darts. Deadly from shore.
