Even if you’re not catholic it’s a reason to eat fish once a week which I try to do anyhow. Tonight will be fresh Atlantic Halibut blackened with a homemade lobster sauce

I couldnt see getting to the pearly gates and they telling me I cant get in because I ate meat on a Friday......I think duck is on tonights menu , its only half meat as its semi aquatic.....anyway if I remind the Mrs. its lent then the menu may change as it did last week...........

The way I see it is any reason to eat fresh fish is a good one

Love halibut, haddock, monkfish, & tuna best. 

DO NOT like salmon or tilapia.

funny I am doing blackened lobster with a homemade salmon sauce... What are the odds?

Being a Japanese American and having eaten fish at least 3 times a week growing up, I choose to not eat so much nowadays. However when the Catholic Church across the street has their Lent Fish Fry, I'm like the first in line! Maybe less catch and release in the future.

After having Lent beat into me with a ruler for 12  yrs in a Catholic school, we still follow the tradition in our family..  

 

Fresh fried flounder tonight with homemade horseradish tartar on a local bakery poppy seed roll...

You realize they only made up this rule because the fishermen complained to the pope because beef sales were far greater than theirs.

I try to remember to eat extra beef and venison on Fridays during lent

Wife will be making calamari and gnocchi later. She always makes these type of things on Lent Fridays for the family. She tries.
