Oh boy, here we go!😂

I don’t shoot mechanicals, but if I did, I’d go with that 2” Sever!
Interesting that the Rage was the first one knocked out.

We did testing with actual deer carcasses years ago, that’s when we decided to stay with fixed blade heads.

the top 3 winners are impressive.   This test doesn't really change the argument for why some uses fixed and some use mechanicals.

1) Err on the side of less than perfect shot, hitting bone while attempting lungs/heart = fixed

2) Err on the side of less than perfect shot, hitting organs "not" lung or heart = mechanicals

3) Make a perfect shot (intersect the green dot factoring shot angle) with either fixed or mechanical deer will not require much, if any tracking or blood trail. = SHOT SELECTION AND WHERE YOU AIM AND HIT STILL MATTERS MOST

When talking about broadheads, most of us have Whitetail Deer in mind. I use mostly mechanicals because you can't get a 2" plus cut fixed head (or at least get it to fly straight). When you get to 350 fps and higher with either a Compound or Crossbow, broadhead flight is sketchy, even with some mechanicals. I use 2" plus cut, two and three blade heads to absorb energy from my bow when passing through an animal. I don't want it to be wasted in the ground. It has nothing to do with covering up for less than perfect shots.

If I had to hunt Elk or Moose, I would lean toward a fixed head.  I have already purchased fixed heads for my South African Safari.

It looks like the Sevr heads are as durable as most fixed heads, and probably better than some.
