Kype Posted March 3, 2021 Posted March 3, 2021 last year i paid $250 to get my wood stove chimney cleaned. the guy used something similar to this brush. he cleaned my chimney from the bottom up, and i dont blame him. i wouldnt want to get up on my roof to clean mine either. i have a very high roof. i found this tonight, for about the price of two cleanings i can buy one and do it my self. anyone have one or used one? when i lived at my dads i always used the regular fiberglass rods and brush and got on the roof, but his roof was nothing compared to my roof.
Kype Posted March 3, 2021 Author Posted March 3, 2021 in fact just my double wall stainless chimney cost more then the wood stove did. crazy.

Nomad Posted March 3, 2021 Posted March 3, 2021 I use the screw together fiberglass rods with the brush on the end. Slide it up from the bottom inside the house. Very easy. Bones and Tarhunt 2

NotJust22s Posted March 3, 2021 Posted March 3, 2021 You can buy it and do members chimneys for $100.00 a pop or trade for ammo. Pay for itself in no time.
Northjerseyoutdoorsman Posted March 3, 2021 Posted March 3, 2021 I do mine with a homemade contraption I made. I use the brush part from tractor supply that I have attached to a 35 foot peice of very heavy duty conduit fish tape that broke of a giant 500 ft spool. Go up from the bottom. Very easy to do! after paying someone to do it the first time and watching how quick and easy it was and what they charged me to do it I felt like a fool! Kype 1

Greybeard Posted March 3, 2021 Posted March 3, 2021 I just had a window weight hanging off the bottom of the brush and lowered it down the chimney on a chain. That seems like a lot of $$ for a snake. I bought a 50' heavy duty septic snake for something like 30-40 bucks. Would just need a way to fit a flexible brush on it
MRMCR Posted March 3, 2021 Posted March 3, 2021 Once I have grandkids Ill just lower them down with some brushes........ ESTATESALESBYOLGA.COM ALWAYS BUYING ANTIQUE AND VINTAGE ITEMS CALL 908 868 8236 MIKE
electric10162 Posted March 3, 2021 Posted March 3, 2021 Pretty cool. I use the local chimney guy to clean the fireplace chimney and pellet stove pipe. He even sticks the camera up there to check on things.
