Bonefreak
Some of my takes on the article .... -high harvest of immature bucks from what I thought was a traditional big buck state -low success rate, license sales down overall 10 yr average -hunters opposed lengthening the 9 day gun season and want to keep baiting legal even tho up to 50% of mature bucks carry CWD -compared national data shows Mississippi hunters harvested mature buck rate was 74% in 2019...maybe a trip to Mississippi shud be in the works!!!?? -author concludes that if nothing is done....the current negative trends will continue....so it seems the DNR needs to adapt to changes in deer hunting community https://www.outdoorlife.com/story/hunting/wisconsin-deer-hunting-decline/
mazzgolf
Quote In some areas of southern Wisconsin the CWD prevalence rate in mature bucks is a horrifying 50 percent. That's crazy - a flip of the coin whether the mature buck you shoot will be edible or not! Bonefreak
