mazzgolf Posted February 21, 2021 Posted February 21, 2021 Had to share, what with all this talk about jet sleds in the snow ... Me and the wife just spent the last couple days up in Lancaster (BTW: saw "Esther" at the Sight-and-Sound theatre - great show! Highly recommend it!). If you have ever driven up there thru Amish country, you'd know -- it's a bunch of huge fields and rolling hills. Add a few inches of snow on top and... well... you get the idea. On the way home, we passed by a large hill with a bunch of cars parked on the side of the road... we look down and we saw a bunch of people sledding. I told my wife, "You know, I have that jet sled in the bed of the truck - you wanna go sledding?". We park, take the sled out ("That thing isn't dirty, is it?" ...[mazz hides the deer and goose blood stains]... "No, no.. it's fine. I cleaned it."), we both hop in and down we went... the jet sled was like a bobsled on ice! Three-quarters of the way down going 100 mph we hit a "malformation" in the hill and wipe out. She gets up laughing saying, "I think I broke my arm".. I can't get up, half-laughing -- "I think I broke my leg." We're fine - but we're gonna have bruises tomorrow. We start walking back up the hill, and half way back up I go, "You know, if we would have just started here, it would be better and not hit that bad spot and we'd make it to the bottom." .... "OK!" and she gets in, I get in, and off we go, and we make it to the bottom still in one piece! Victory!!! We walk back up, put the sled back in the truck, and head back for home content in the fact we "went sledding" without requiring a trip to the ER. Age is just a number! (well, in spirit anyway - our bodies are still over 50 -- and one is less than a year removed from cancer treatment -- so they will probably show it tomorrow morning!) The second, more successful, trip - I took the camera out for this one: rem870hunter1, Bonefreak, Trophy8 and 1 other 3 1
Bonefreak Posted February 21, 2021 Posted February 21, 2021 Outstanding!! jet sleds bring out the kid in all of us!
rcolman018 Posted February 21, 2021 Posted February 21, 2021 My whole family loves using the jet sled! Sledding and getting towed behind the tractor through the snow. One of my best purchases yet! jerseyhunter 1
