That went fast !!

More than fair price.

And stores just don't have inventory.  I've seen your posts looking for accu tips. They are no where to be found unless you want to pay outrageous prices on gunbroker.

I'm just trying to get some stock to sight in a gun this summer.

If I find someone who is willing to let accu tips go at a fair price I'll let you know. On gun broker right now they are selling on average $8-11 a round. I can't pay that. No way.

I have 3 full boxes of Remington copper solid 5/8 oz sabot slugs and 1 box with two rounds. I also have 1 box of Federal 2 3/4 7/8 sabot slugs.

All for $50. I will post pictures when I get back from the dentist.

Thanks

Gil

What are you planning to shoot out the new 220 Gil??  Just curious.

Swamprat let me know where and when we can meet. I am in Whiting in Ocean County.

I know I could have gotten more for the slugs, but I am no gouger. I probably paid what I am charging.

I have several boxes of Hornady SSTs I am going to sight in my scope with. I reload rifle and shotshells, so now I am going to reload slugs and only shoot what I reload. The easiest thing to reload are slugs and require minimal equipment.

The red sabot has a 250 gr Hornady xtp 45 cal. I am also going to try these sabots with Hornady 300 and 350 grain XTP and FTX 45 and 50 cal.

The slug with the white wad is an Italian Dangerous Game Slug.

The next one is a Fury Custom Plastic Base Slug. I am still waiting for wads to arrive for this one.

The mold in the back is a Russian mold for a slug like the Lyman sabot.

The other mold is for 250 gr 45 cal lead. I am going to try some of them in the Red Sabot also.

By reloading I can try different powders and bullets. Which ever my gun likes best I will stick with. I have everything I need except for powder. I have to get some Alliant Blue Dot and Steel. I have Longshot but the only load data I have for Longshot is for the Italian and Fury. The Fury load data was a desk draw load data and not tested for pressure. I don't like to do that.

I have until hunting season to dial in these slugs. Then I will make hundreds to practice during the year. They will be a fraction of the cost of production ammo and probably more exact and accurate.

Hey Gil - while I have no idea what these slugs can do from a ballistics perspective, that middle slug looks wicked. And as I mentioned to you the other day, once you've dialed this in for your 220, let me know if you're interested in selling some. I'm interested in trying them.

That middle 1 looks like a Russian Fireplug slug. Was told they're a Russian Fireplug anyways.  i received a few loaded up to try from my 870 and 1100. Hard to say if it's exactly that through the hull but it looks darn close.

The slugs are made by Gualandi, an Italian maker of slugs and shotshell wads.

That is the Russian fire hydrant slug. Gualandi makes different slugs. Here is a link for them.

There are two Russian slug mold makers that I know of - Svorog and AMS. If you can get lead for free (range lead or tire weights from a mechanic friend) and use a mold you can make slugs for about $.27 a round with new primed hulls.

If you want to get into making your own slugs here are some good websites.

I belong to this Facebook group. I learned a lot here. These members reload all kinds of slugs and buckshot.

I get some of my supplies for Ballistic Products Inc (BPI).

I have also bought items from this website.

Here is another site with some good info.

MGHunter66 pointed me in the right direction about a month ago on this site. I put out a thread and replied. I knew nothing about doing this. I then researched it and found a lot if info. There is another member on this site that has been doing this a long time and was very helpful.

This is the source of the Red CCS Sabots. These you need to try to reload a sabot slug like an SST or ACCUTIP. Out of all the slugs I am going to make these are the most expensive but still much cheaper than buying commercial slugs. This Sabot Slug with a Hornady XTP 45 cal 250 grain bullet and new primed hulls will cost around $1.35 a piece. They are also nice people and a Jersey manufacturer.

Have some fun, save money and have an endless supply of slugs, so you can actually enjoy shooting your shotgun more often. Don't be at the mercy of these shortages and politics.
