Why worry about mold and having to walk around a large container for $20 worth of corn?  I'd just put it out now to feed the critters and buy fresh come fall.  My wife would hate another large container in our garage or shed for something like corn.

Corn is cheap, if you have some left put it out now in the snow when they need it most. Buy fresh next year.

It's about moisture. In the humid months, it may get green molded even if the container is ventilated. You may want to spread it out among three 5 gallon buckets with some ventilation holes. The best thing is keeping it in the bags but you have to worry about mice.

I store grain for brewing in my basement.  I have it in garbage barrels that have holes under the handles.  I also run a dehumidifier 24/7 to keep the humidity at 35% or lower.  I have never had an issue with mold, but I take precautions to ensure the humidity is very low.  Moisture is the enemy.

I didn't quit.  I just don't do it anymore.  I'll do it again sometime.  That's not quitting.  :)
